We provide a large range of custom made devices but are also able to pre made orthoses if appropriate. Upper limb orthotics can provide support to the whole arm or to just a part if required, there support could focus even on a single finger.

What is the process to be receive an upper limb orthotic?

The process to receive an upper limb orthotic would be:

  • Assessment
  • Measuring / Casting
  • Fitting
  • Review

Our orthotists will complete an assessment to establish the appropriate orthotic device for your requirements. This will involve discussing your current and previous medical history and observing your current abilities where appropriate. Your orthotist will suggest a range of devices which will be suitable for your needs and will take measurements and if required a cast or scan of your arm/hand. Once the device has been selected and manufactured you will return for a fitting to ensure the fit is correct and you will be provided information about wearing and using the device.
