There is a large variety of conditions in which the fingers may need supporting from an orthotic device. Finger orthotics can be either dynamic (actively providing a stretch upon the finger) or static (holding the finger in a specific place or only allow a certain level of movement). Finger orthoses can be made from a variety of materials which provide different strengths of support. Your orthotist will discuss different suitable options for your needs. We are able to provide both stock and custom made devices dependant on your needs.

What is the process to be receive a finger orthotic?

The process to receive a finger orthotic would be:

  • Assessment
  • Measuring
  • Fitting
  • Review

You will initially be required to attend an assessment with one of our experienced orthotists who will assess your difficulties and will discuss with you different orthotic devices which may be suitable for you. Your orthotist will then take measurements which will be used to select/ create the correct sized device. Once fitted your orthotist will provide information about wearing the device.
