The Step On is a pre made ankle foot orthoses with the ability to be customised for your needs. The device is specifically designed for the treatment of drop foot. The Step On is unique in its design due the articulation and ability to offer adjustable dorsiflexion (lifting of your toes) assistance.

What are the indications for use of a Step On?

There are many indications for using a Step On. These include:

  • Drop foot
  • Drop foot with excessive correctable varus (inward turning) or valgus (outward turning) of the foot
  • Frequent falls
  • Poor balance
  • Poor gait

What is the process to be receive a Step On?

The process to receive an Step On would be:

  • Assessment
  • Measuring
  • Fitting
  • Review

Your orthotist will therefore take a series of measurements of your foot and lower leg to ensure the correct type and size of Step On is selected. On delivery of your device, your orthotist can heat form and trim the plastic if required to give a fully personalised fit.
