Insoles for children are designed to offer support to their feet and ensure their feet are held in the best anatomical position while growing.

What are the indications for use of insoles for children?

There are many indications for using insoles for children. These include:

  • Valgus (knees turned outwards) or Varus (knees turned inwards) knees
  • Over supination (outward roll of foot)
  • Over pronation (inward roll of foot)
  • Heel Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Poor Balance

What is the process to be recieve insoles for children?

The process to receive insoles for children would be:

  • Assessment
  • Measuring / Casting
  • Fitting
  • Review

To ensure your child’s insoles are appropriate to their needs the orthotist will undertake a simple assessment. This will include watching your child walk, taking measurements of your child’s feet and finally taking an impression using a foam impression box of their feet. This information will then be used to create the most appropriate insole for your child’s needs.
