AlterG Bionic Leg

The AlterG Bionic Leg is a lower limb exoskeleton device designed to be used within the rehabilitation environment. At Orthotics UK you can work with our multidisciplinary team whilst wearing the AlterG Bionic Leg to enable you to walk, stand even go up and down stairs.

The AlterG Bionic Leg is a portable single lower limb exoskeleton designed for rehabilitation. It provides assistance with flexion (bending) and extension (straightening) of your knee. This gives you support when walking, going up or down stairs, sitting and squatting, it is therefore ideal for completing rehabilitation exercises helping to strengthen a weakened leg or gaining confidence doing daily tasks such as getting in and out of your car.

The AlterG Bionic Leg is designed for those who are undergoing rehabilitation to improve function in a single leg, for example users who have experienced the following:

  • Stroke
  • Incomplete spinal cord injury
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • An orthopedic injury
  • Surgery
  • General leg weakness

Users must however have some leg function as the device requires active pressure to be placed through the footplate in order to work. This list is not exhaustive and we are able to advise you as to your suitability for using the AlterG Bionic Leg. Contact us to discuss your suitability.
