Assessment and Recommendation Reports (Treatment Reports)

Orthotics.co.uk provides comprehensive assessments and recommendation reports, also known as treatment reports. Assessments can be carried out by our HCPC and BAPO registered orthotists at any of our three clinical locations in Manchester, Leeds, or Liverpool. We also offer external visits to locations such as homes, day centres, schools, and colleges.

We do not operate a waiting list. CVs of our orthotists and full details of our service terms are available upon request. Please contact us at office@orthotics.co.uk.

What is Included in our Orthotic Assessments?

At Orthotics.co.uk, we carry out a full and detailed assessment to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. Each assessment typically includes the following components:

  • Subjective interview and medical history: We begin with a discussion to understand the patient’s concerns, symptoms, lifestyle, and relevant medical background. This helps us tailor the assessment to individual needs.
  • Range of motion testing: We assess how freely and comfortably the joints move to identify any stiffness, restrictions, or abnormalities.
  • Muscle power testing: Muscle strength is evaluated to detect imbalances, weaknesses, or compensatory patterns that may influence posture or movement.
  • Gait analysis: A visual and clinical evaluation of walking patterns is performed to highlight irregularities in movement and biomechanics.
  • Video analysis: Where appropriate, we capture video footage to review gait and posture in more detail and track progress over time.
  • Photographic evidence: Still images may be taken to document posture, alignment, and any areas of concern for future reference and treatment planning.
  • Outcome measures: We use appropriate, evidence-based clinical outcome tools to objectively measure functional ability, pain levels, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Casts, scans, and measurements: If an orthotic device is required, we take precise measurements, 3D scans, or casts to ensure a custom fit and optimal comfort.

What is Included in Our Orthotic Recommendation Reports?

The reports can be tailored to suit the specific requirements of each case, based on any instructions we receive. We welcome as much information as possible about the case prior to the assessment. Typically, our reports include:

  • Details of assessment findings
  • Orthotic recommendations or trial suggestions
  • Costings for orthotic devices and follow-up appointments
  • Recommended replacement periods
  • Additional treatment recommendations

How long will it take to Receive the Recommendation Report?

We aim to complete and return the report within seven working days. If the case is urgent, we will make every effort to accommodate short time frames at request.
